The YMCA’s Pryme Mover Programs are designed specifically for the over 50s. The key features of the Pryme Mover Programs:

Pryme Mover Programs
Lift for Life
Lift for Life is a strength training program designed specifically for people with or at risk of type 2 diabetes. The program was developed on research conducted at the International Diabetes Institute (now Baker IDI) which showed that changes in blood glucose control which matches and sometimes exceeds that typically produced by conventional drug treatments.
It is delivered as a series of supervised 8-week programs. The sessions are conducted in small groups or no more than 12, in specially licensed facilities and aims to help participants achieve better diabetes control, a healthier weight, stronger bones and much more.

Council on the Ageing (COTA) Victoria Living Longer Living Stronger Strength Training Programs
Living Longer Living Stronger™ is an endorsement scheme to promote, effective and affordable strength training programs for people aged 50 years and over in an age-appropriate environment.
Living Longer Living Stronger™ strength training programs are offered at approximately 120 venues across Victoria, including community health centres, fitness and leisure centres and neighbourhood houses.

Agestrong
Agestrong is a group strength and balance program that is specifically designed for older people. Older people who have ceased exercise or have a sedentary lifestyle would benefit most from this program.
Agestrong is run at 15 venues across the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston regions. Five venues offer chair-based exercises, however all venues offer chair-based exercises if required.

Strong People Stay Young
Strong People Stay Young is scientifically proven to improve bone density, muscle strength and balance of older adults. The exercises, led by VicFit qualified instructors, are low impact and involve both hand and leg weights. The exercises are suitable for both men and women.
